Going Back To Our "Roots"

Wild and Wonderful Herbal Apothecary is a small business owned and operated in the beautiful foothills of West Virginia. Within all of the states majestic beauty, comes some of the most beautiful, vibrant, beneficial plant allies. Utilizing herbal allies to help support the body in times of need is not uncommon to this region. For many years, plants and roots were used in the Appalachian Mountains to ease many common ailments when going to the doctor wasn't possible due to financial hardships and/or having little to no transportation available. The beneficial knowledge of utilizing herbs, plants, and roots for helping aid the body through different phases of life has been passed down through many generations. Wild and Wonderful Herbal Apothecary is definitely a keeper of the olde ways and was created with this goal in mind, to help people see that they do not have to be so dependent on potentially harmful chemicals and to understand that they can take their well being into their own hands. For me, being able to go out into the lush surrounding mountains and harvest a plant or root and create a safe, simple plant ally to help support the body to do what it naturally supposed to do, is quite a blessing. I can honestly say that plant allies helped turn my own self care around for the better, taken both internally and externally. My herbal journey dates back to 2016 when an unexpected health scare had me scrambling for alternative therapies. I was blessed when my biopsy came back as a non-cancerous fibroadenoma. Nevertheless, this scare made me take a step back and look at my personal well being moving forward. I had spent countless hours researching holistic living and soon became fascinated with the amazing world of herbal allies. So it became my love and passion to learn all I could about different plants, herbs, and roots, as well as proper formulation to create well balanced herbal products. My offerings are hand crafted using raw plant material and, as a personal choice, I never use essential oils in my products, as I believe in extracting many of the plants constituents, not just their most concentrated volatile oils. As a traditional herbalist, I hold myself to a strict standard. I firmly believe in the practice of plant stewardship, meaning 'Admire More Than You Take, and Only Harvest When It's A Sustainable and Ethical Practice', as taught to me by my elders and mentors. I have received 2 certifications through an online school, The Herbal Academy, which taught me formulations, botany, and phytochemistry. I am currently enrolled in school to become certified in Clinical Nutrition and Holistic Health, which I will allow me to be a holistic consultant. Not to mention, I snatch up as much free online training that I can whenever offered by trusted herbalists! I also have collected a wide variety of well-written herbal books that have taught me so much, as well as online mentors and elders that I have followed, studied, and trusted over the years. I am so blessed that they share all of their plant knowledge with the world. As with most passionate herbalists you talk to, I have to say that I am still learning something new each day. Even a seasoned herbalist will tell you there is always something new to learn in the plant world! It is important to remember that when using plants as complementary and/or alternative therapies, routine is key for best results. Unfortunately, there are no "quick fixes" when it comes to ones personal well-being, but with a good routine and a little patience, these plants can work synergistically with the body's natural rhythm. I am truly excited to have this amazing opportunity to offer these products to you! Made in small batches with peace, love, and light! Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey with me!
